Keaton Turns 2

On August 18 our baby boy turned 2 years old.  I can hardly believe how fast time flies.  Seems like just yesterday we were praying for him to come home from NICU.  This year we didn't have a big party like we did for his first birthday, instead we spent his special day with some family.  My dad, step-mom, and two little brothers were visiting from Colorado that whole week so we just made the whole week a fun celebration.  First they stopped in Kerrville to pick up my grandmother so she could spend the week with us. They all got to our house on Saturday and we layed low, fried fish and let the kids play in the water.  The next morning they came to church with us and then we spend the afternoon resting up for the beach.  on Monday morning we packed up and headed to the coast for a couple of days.  The kids had fun playing on the beach.  This was Keaton's first time in the ocean and he loved it.  He was scaring me a little because he had no fear and would walk out into the water too far and then get knocked down by the crashing waves. After a couple of days there we returned to Pleasanton only to pack up again and head to New Braunfels.  My mother-in-law was so sweet to host us all.  We celebrated Keatons birthday on Wednesday night (the night before his birthday) at her house.  The kids swam until dark then we lit candles on his birthday cake and Keaton opened his presents.  He had a great 2nd birthday and we enjoyed our visit from our Colorado family.

What can I say about Keaton at this point in his life....ALOT!  This kid just cracks us up!!  He has such a sense of humor, rarely does he get upset, and just rolls with the punches (literally).  He is really starting to form sentences and carry on little conversations with us.  He has heard us say "I'll help you" so many times that now when he needs help with something he comes to us and asks "I help you?"  He calles suckers "Yellows".  Wilson was trying to tell him the color of his sucker was yellow and it just stuck. He loves to give hugs and kisses and if we try to leave his room at bedtime and he hasn't hugged, kissed, and given noggin to everybody he gets very mad.   He loves to look at books and we often find him sitting quietly in his room surrounded by books.  He is also really into trains right now, very familiar to us since William was also obsessed with trains at this age.  He is sleeping in a big bed and loves all the extra room he has for his trains to sleep with him.  He adores his big brother and wants to do everything he does, which drives William crazy.  We love Keaton so much and can't imagine our family without him!  Thank you God for our sweet little blessing!!!!

Check out how high William bounced

He came down pretty hard from that bounce. Ha ha he will love this one day
