All about Keaton

Next weekend will be Keaton's 3rd birthday. I can hardly believe three years have gone by since we welcomed this fun spirited, full of life, mischievous little boy into our lives. Thank you God for giving him to our family!!!

Let me catch ya up....

I don't even know where to begin in this blog post.  Since my last post several holidays have come and gone, William played his second season of t-ball, many summer activities and Keaton started "school", oh yeah I can't forget about our two week trip half way around the world to Kenya (that will definitely be a post of its own).  We have some big things coming up and I refuse to leave anything else un-documented, so I will make it my mission to blog at least monthly about the going ons in our lives.  I am going to catch up by doing a super quick (not that any of these events were of any less importance) update on the things that I have missed.

Christmas 2011 was very eventful. The weekend before Christmas we traveled to Spring to see some family and the boys had a great time playing with all of their older cousins.  While we were there we visited our sweet friends Jason and Courtney in the hospital after precious baby Caroline was born.  Several posts back I asked for prayers for this family.  Caroline was diagnosed with Spina Bifida and two days after she was born she went to be with Jesus.  I am so grateful for the time Jason and Courtney got to spend with their daughter and I am also so grateful for the lessons I have learned in watching how they are handling this situation with such strength and reliance on God.  I can't wait to see how God will use this family to advance his kingdom.

On December 23, I began running fever and had a VERY sore throat. After much persuasion from Wilson I made a late evening trip to a med clinic in San Antonio.  The diagnosis was strep throat.  Not good seeing as how I was supposed to have a house full of family the next afternoon for Christmas Eve dinner and church service.  After stopping to get my prescription I didn't get home until about 11:00 that night, so I just plopped myself on the couch and slept there.  Wilson went outside the next morning to realize both our vehicles had been broken into.  Ughhhh at this point I was ready to call of Christmas!  William had a hard time understanding how somebody could do this (mainly because they took his Nintendo DS), so it gave me a good opportunity to talk with him about forgiveness and the importance of making sure people know Jesus.  I refused to let any of this ruin our Christmas, so I began cooking and preparing for the arrival of our guests.  Everything turned out great and we had such a beautiful candle light service, well minus the very loud gas that was passed by Keaton during the closing prayer.  Boys, gotta love them!!!!  After the family left that night Wilson and I headed outside in the very cold, rainy weather to assemble the trampoline Santa was bringing the boys the next morning.  We finished at 2:30 am.  It was so worth it though.  After Christmas morning with the boys at our house we traveled to New Braunfels to be with Wilson's side of the family.  We had a great Christmas and absolutely loved spending time with all of our family and friends.

After Christmas, life slowed down just a bit.  Easter came and went.  We had several egg hunts and some fun with family and friends.  William started t-ball in the Spring and had a much more productive season than last year.  He played pitcher and 1st base.  He did a great job and I can't wait until next season when he plays machine pitch.  Keaton also started the same Mothers Day Out program that William has been going to for a couple of years.  He loves going and is making some great friends.  Wilson, William and I went to Kenya in June for a mission trip, but I will include more about that in my next post.
